Tony Joe White - Closer To The Truth
Great songwriter/performer.... never gave in to the commercial gravity that many masters of the craft are eventually pulled into.
This guy is a true master that never sold out. Soulful heartfelt honesty with talent talent talent.

Johnny Winter - Highway 61
In 1966 I used to hitch a ride with Bobby Pratt in his soup'd up and customized 55 chevy on Friday and Saturday nights down to Hilje Hall in Hilje Texas to listen to Johnny Winter tear that guitar up. Most people don't know it but Johnny Winter signed a record deal in the late 1960's for $600,000.00 which was a record amount for a blues man on any label at the time.
Thanks for the memories Johnny!

SANTA VISITS GRANBY LIONS CLUB CHILDREN’S PARTY!
It was a cold dreary wintry Saturday, but that was not the atmosphere inside the new “Granby After Dark” Event Center where the Granby Lions had organized a Christmas party for the Newton County Foster children with the hope that Santa would pay them a visit too. Unlike outside the mood inside was warm and full of excitement. After a welcome snack and beverage, the children quickly enjoyed doing several crafts led by the Lions membership and thanks to the “Merry Makers” FCE club, the story time corner, proved very popular too.
After lunch, heaven behold, Santa arrived with a load of presents, answering wishes sent to Santa via the Neosho Methodist Church’s angel tree. The anxious faces quickly changed to big broad smiles and a happy contented group of children finished the event with arms full of presents. That made for another happy, contented group, the Granby Lions Club members and volunteers who finished the event with a “great job well done” feeling ( photo being self-explanatory) and already added it to the next year’s schedule of community activities.

Ron and Theresia Forgey Celebrate 40 Years of Marriage
The first event held at Granby After Dark was Ron and Theresia Forgey's 40th wedding anniversary party. Music was provided by DeWayne Bowman and Friends. Catered by Busseys BBQ of Miami Ok. This was a great party that included over 90 family members and friends. A great time of dining and dancing in honor of one of Granby's favorite couples. Congratulations Ron and Theresia!
